Greetings to distinguished guests, and officials and players of the Afghanistan and Pakistan Physical Disability Cricket Teams

I am very sorry not to be with you in person on the occasion of this important cricket series between two proud cricketing nations.  Thanks to your commitment the development of physical disability cricket is growing faster than we ever could have hoped and with Bangladesh and India also actively developing the game for physically disabled people we have an exciting future to look forward to.  You will be aware that England and Pakistan have already played two international series in Dubai in 2012 and 2014 which saw Pakistan victorious on both occasions. & I would like to convey my thanks to the officials of both sides and to the President of the PDCA Mr Saleem Karim,  for the work that they do to enable these series to take place, there is much to do and I know that the players are very grateful for your efforts.  I would like to wish the players on both teams the very best of luck for the series, there can be no greater accolade for a cricketer than to represent their country and I know that you will all feel very proud at what you have achieved. Play hard & Play Fair and may the best team win.& I look forward to meeting all of you in the future.  Please accept my very best wishes for a successful tournament.
